On December 6, 2012, Cook County Clerk, David Orr, released the new Cook County Delinquent tax search database. This new searchable database should provide citizens with instant access to information on all Cook County properties with sold, forfeited or unpaid taxes. The database contains over 222,000 properties.
Orr stated: “With this new search tool, property owners can learn instantly if they owe back taxes. Such transparency will improve collections, reduce calls and foot traffic to our office, and allow many businesses to be more efficient.”
